“Disney” Kinetic Type – Jim Gaffigan is easily one of my favorite comedians, so this piece was particularly fun to make. My goal was to create a kinetic type piece the was more than just animated type. I wanted to include simple art that I could animate to further enhance the audio, and to add to the humor.
Harold and the Purple Crayon – The task given for this project was to create a title sequence based off a book that had not been turned into a film yet. Naturally, I chose “Harold and the Purple Crayon” as I am a giant child on the inside. This book was one of my favorites as a kid, and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put my own spin on it. I knew I wanted to use the Imagine Dragons song “Rocks” because it had the right tempo, and energetic feel that I thought would be appropriate for this piece. The original piece was created in 2012, but received a major overhaul in 2014 to better reflect my growth as an artist and animator.
Pigma Micron pens logo bumpers – The goal of this project was to create an animated logo bumper for a company of our choice. I chose Pigma Micron artist pens because I use their products frequently in my work, and I knew I had a lot I could work with as far as animation went. I created two side animations that could accompany a professional presentation or a website, as well as the overall company logo bumper.
